I use a regular 1 1/2" curling iron. I curl the pieces from close to the root down to the ends. Not from the roots up. Spiral the hair around the iron. Don't forget to curl the ends. As you work up the head move further down the shaft- not so close to the roots. Try not to curl the pieces all exactly at the same place- a little variety. The beach spray will not give as formed of look as the picture you show. Beach spray give a more tussled look.
ohh i think i know!! i saw a show on tv its where jay manuel is the host and he makes u over so u kinda look like ur fav celeb... i saw that ken paves used like a 2 inch or 2 1/2 inch one??

you dont need to use a curling iron.. buy a salt spray and itll give you nice beach waves
