I dont get what the last part means ... " with schedules" ??? its for my college
It means that the financial aid office needs the entire tax return. (Somebody in the office thought writing the request that way would sound more official, but it just proves that he or she doesn't really know much.)
Some of the papers that are part of a tax return include some that are titled as "Schedule A" "Schedule B" etc. There are also many that are called Forms, such as Form 4562 or Form 6251, etc.
Most schools want a copy of the tax return that has been signed.
I hope this helps.
A schedules is a break-out sheet that shows how you got to a number on the 1040 form. Example: if you itemize deductions, you fill out and include Schedule A. There's a variety of schedules and a person's taxes might include several - or none. If you parent's tax return includes schedules, they would know.
If they filed it with documents with names like "Schedule A", "Schedule B", etc., they you have to sent those to the college. If they just filed the basic tax return, without anything called a "Schedule", then you do not have to send any schedules. In other words, the college wants everything that your parents filed, which may or may not include something called a "Schedule".
If your parents take itemized deductions or have investments, they attach certain Schedules to their 1040 return, such as Schedule A for itemized deductions, Schedule D for capital gains, Schedule E for rents and royalties.
You need your parents tax schedule. If they pay taxes they should know what that is. It's just a form so ask your mom and dad for a copy.
Like schedules, A, B, C, D, E etc
They want copies of all the papers your parents filed with the IRS, not just the 1040 form.
It means all attachments to their basic tax return (Form 1040). Only your parents can supply you with that.
