Some general questions:
1. How many years of school/college does it take to become a speech language pathologist
2. What type of people would be good in this field?
3. How much science is involved in this career? I'm not a huge fan of science so would this career be okay for someone like me or no?
4. Would job shadowing someone in this field be a good idea?

Job shadowing is a great idea. In some states SLP is offered in two year cycles so it is possible you may need to wait a year before you start. I think it takes two years or so. There is some science and if you are not good at learning parts of the body then it may be a challenge for you. People who care and want to help children speak better. It is a challenging degree.
