So I signed up for speech and debate in my school, I chose speech, but this is my first time in it. I wanted to join it to help me feel less nervous talking in front of people. We have four tournaments that we have to go to and my first one is that I'm going to be reciting an 8 minute poem. But the way i have to present it is with passion and I have to try to make people feel moved...How would I do that? Do I have to act? And do you know any good poems that are about 8 minutes long? So far I've chosen 3 poems by Robert Frost, but I still don't know....

..yes I think in a way you do have to act.. or actually, have to forget yourself.. let yourself feel the poem and read it with that feeling or passion (and understanding) you'll be thinking of expressing the feelings of the poem, and 'losing' yourself (forgetting self, and non self conscious) - good luck!
yes. act. put emotion into it. act like your what the poem is talking about and ur not afraid of letting ppl see ur troubles
