If it has an orange looking design like an hour glass on its belly it is a brown widow spider. I found some arround my house and had to do research to find out what it was. If it is they are poisonous like their relative the black widow but not nearly as aggressive.
POISONOUS! Just kidding. I think that those are called tree spiders. They are really big and spin huge webs. Yea I have walked through a few of those! Sucks. But they aren't anything to worry about.
I wouldn't worry about it, but don't let it bite you just in case. Kill all spiders except banana spiders and tarantulas. They are nice. Just, i wouldn't try to hold a banana spider just in case, but all the ones i have seen have been nice.

well...where do you live??? it would be easier to tell you the species if i knew your location
