If a person were to change basic personality upon sleep, shock etc. what sort of disorder would that be? is it even possible? If not, what's the closest thing?
Update:I'm not the one with the problem....and i was wondering because i read a story and i don't think its accurate but i'm not sure.

We don't call it split personality any more, but dissociative identity disorder.
There are four dissociative disorders.
I would say dissociative identity disorder with amnesia should cover your description.
There is no such thing as a split personality. I think most of us change personality upon sleeping or when shocked by something in life. What makes you think you have a disorder? Try your question again with more detail.
all and sundry this is faulty (different than for some who stated we will not particularly tell). there is not something i will make of what you assert. even with the undeniable fact that we do see character differences with extreme sleep deprivation. the fast answer is your concepts cells start to interrupt down as a results of fact we do be responsive to, however not elementary technology that sleep upkeep cells interior the physique and concepts. in case you do now stay unsleeping in any respect the cells are not getting repaired and that they wreck down. there have been some people who do now stay unsleeping in any respect, over months and that they do die. we've discovered that their brains on the time of loss of existence loss 70% mass, they simply about have not got any concepts left. some thing so elementary as being frightened at events will exchange your character. this is on tiny hyperlink, photograph what happens once you loose a brilliant mass of concepts. There are extreme sleep issues like i discussed or merely staying up too previous due can tutor an impact. a extreme electric powered marvel might desire to tutor cortical harm yet i'm unable to be certain that. yet regardless of happens is it not chop up character or Schizophrenia.
