So I sprained my wrist after falling in a parking lot with a friend on my back and I blew it off and kept playing golf. I went to get it checked out though after a week because it was hurting pretty bad. It didn't swell all that much and there was minimul if any bruising. It mainly hurts below my thumb(bone connecting thumb to wrist) and on the side of my hand where my pinky is from the middle of my pinky down to my wrist. They told me to wear a brace for 1-2 weeks and if it worsens I should come back. They took X-rays but nothing came up. They also said I could continue golf so I did. It was getting worse so I went back a week later and they took more X-rays but nothing showed up again and they said it was a wrist contusion(bone bruise) on the pinky side of my wrist(near hamate bone) and to wear the brave or 4-6 weeks. And take anti-infammatory pills. I've followed their instructions and don't participate in golf matches and yet at least once a day usually more, I get a deep achy like pain on that side of my hand and through my wrist. When I don't wear my brace(like around the house at night or in the morning) I still find things painful, like turning my wrist a certain way, or playin piano. The 4 weeks will be up on Friday, is this normal for it to still feel like this?

Go back to your doctor; you continue to have significant pain in your wrist with a decrease in your quality of life. You may have an injury to the DRUJ (distal radial ulnar joint) or the ligaments and/ or cartilage of the wrist. (See references) Ask if an MRI is indicated. Good luck!
Sometimes you have to be a bit firm with doctors. Tell them that you don't understand why 6 weeks after you fell your wrist still hurts. I'd say that it's something a bit more serious that they need to look into instead of just a passing glance at an ex-ray.
go to ur doctors i sprained my wrist few weeks ago and i got a cast
