recently i hit the underside of my buick 93 lesabre on a curb when "making" a shortcut through a parking lot. from then on in, my car makes astrange, almost backfiring sound when it switches gears from 1st to 2nd gear... or maybe 2nd to 3rd. its not loud, and it doenst sound really dangerous, but what's to do about it!

take a look at the underside of the car, you may have cracked the exhaust or knocked a oxygen sensor loose or off. I suggest investigating where you see the contact with the car, those things will change the readings the computer uses to manage the engine
