I currently have a flipper. Its a retainer with a tooth on it. Sad thing is I've never been very regular about brushing taking it out while I sleep....could that be what is causing my swelling?
Will me getting on a regular brushing flossing and rinsing help this?
Also how can I help my dry mouth??

If you have dry mouth make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. If you drink a lot of water (not sodas and other stuff) and you still have dry mouth you may want to look at other things with a medical doctor.
Dry mouth can also be caused by medications such as inhalers or allergy meds. They are meant to dry the runny nose and this can dry your mouth too.
Dry mouth can also cause your palate to be irritated because it's dry and you have something laying on it. (The flipper!) Taking out your flipper at night gives your palate rest. It is like shoes. You need to let your gums breath over night without it in your mouth.
Brushing and flossing are great but won't help reduce your swelling unfortunately.
God bless you!
