OMG im suprised to meet someone like you who shares my passion for cooking. im 14 btw. i have dreamed of becoming a chef for a while. unfortunately i live in a small town in western kentucky. there arent any restaurants that are really needing a real chef. also i would have to go away to college to become a chef since this community college doesnt offer culinary classes. so i just cook at home trying different ideas that pop into my head. honestly i dont think i will be able to become a chef. my mom gives me little support on my dream to become a chef. anyway i really do love to cook iand i really want to become a chef .

I'm in college, but talked my way into a sous chef's position this summer. The main things you will need to need to know as a chef are professional techniques. For example: how/when to use a double boiler, how to temper an egg, how to flame a sauce, how to emulsify a dressing... etc. These are things you should practice at home if you want a professional career. Timing in a professional kitchen is very different from in a home one, so try preparing different foods for your family, all coming out at different times. Also think about how much prep work a recipe requires, minimizing the time it would take to go from order to table. Good luck, it is a fulfilling, if stressful career.

I'm 14 and I really liked cooking since I was 9.

I mostly concentrate on Italian food, my favorite.

I love to bake. Baking is my forte. I love to bake sweets and pizzas.

My favorite chef has to be Michael Smith from Chef at Home. Like him, I don't normally work around recipes. I do trial and error and find what flavors suit each other and experiment a lot. I love to cook anything for my family and friends.

find the best restaurant and best chef that will ride you, also attend a culinary school that has hands on training, im 19 and i started working in kitchens when i was 10 like i said find the best and you will learn the fastest. Dont be nervous to jump in and MAKE mistakes you will get bitched at but they will like u better for trying than for being nervous and move fast and bang it out and you will impress them. Work on your knife skills daily at home or wherever you can and learn the 5 mother sauces and derivatives of them as well as how to make stocks and rouxs. Learn your knife cuts- julienne, fine julienne, batonet, brunoise, fine brunoise, paysane, and tourne cuts. Good luck and remember dont be nervous just learn from ur mistakes but dont be scared to make them its how you learn and practice as much with your knife skills as possible.

i love to cook and i just cook all the time trying new recipes and making my own so i can get better. practice makes perfect! you can go to college for culinary arts or business and open up a restaurant or a catering business.

Oh well im like 13 and my dream is to be a chef.well i was visiting VA and in norfolk VA there is a chefs program..........and you can take cooking classed for abot 1,500 in the hamptons for one week!

take cooking class if your schools offer them, go to culinary school

...get a cookbook...nd practice in yur kitchen...but thats jus me =D
