The Strokes + Velvet Underground?
Everyone always compares the Strokes to the Velvet Underground. But I can never seem to find any similarities. Mind you, I'm a major fan of the Strokes. Also I haven't really listened to many VelvetU tracks.
Can you list or link songs that sound similar, or where Strokes found their influence?

The Strokes Velvet Underground
Well, they are both from New York City; they both sort of have a raw sort of sound. There really isn't that many similarities though; almost every garage/post-punk type of band is going to sound a little like the Velvet Underground.
I've never heard anyone compare The Strokes to The VU. Regardless , The VU blow them out of the water.
Listen to the debut , or Loaded.
