Last week I had a very uncomfortable pain under my right rib cage and I couldn't even take good deep breathes because it would hurt. After two days the pain went away. But today the pain came back, only this time it goes around to my upper back rib cage.I cannot sleep because I can't lay on my back, side or facing down. Its not an excruciating pain, but it is very uncomfortable.

Have you been doing exercises or anything strenuous that would cause you to stretch and pull that area? Dancing, and aerobics will pull the muscles. Also, an old car injury or even a fall will pull the muscle and cause it to flare up if it happened a while back. If it's come back it means it didn't heal right. Stop doing whatever you're doing that is pulling on the muscle and the pain should go away. Also, lying down for more than a day with an old injury will cause it to flare up.
