Im in highschool, and I've always been a really good student. I've always taken advanced classes and done well. I just started doing really badly in half of my classes (not because of transition becasue im not a freshman). I can feel the stress of my outragous workload taking its tool, as I'm always tired, have a little insomnia, am irritable, and cry for a couple minutes every night after looking at all the work I must do. I'm up past 12 doing homework because I just sit there staring at my books half the time! Every second of every day I'm thinking about how much work I have to do when I get home. I have big dreams, togo to a great college and all, but is it worth it? Should I just throw my hands up and go with these bad grades... I dont have much fuel left in me to do anything else? Should I take easier classes and forget my dream of becoming a doctor?? I really just dont get why I all of a sudden have the worst test grade in the class when I worked harder and am smarter than most of the class!!!?

Sorry for so much to read...i think it's all important though.
I've had those same thoughts. I'm a studious high schooler (boy, senior). Advanced classes are tough. I'm also up past 12 every night. I've kind of gotten use to it by now, like my body isn't very tired in the morning, BUT I'd rather go to sleep. I'm a procrastinator :P. What you need to do is start your homework as soon as you get home. Before you check your email/facebook/anything online. I'm not saying check those when you're done with your homework, but get something done first. I have a feeling you procrastinate. Hate to break it to you, but TV, Facebook, hanging out, are all not good on the weekdays. They are a waste of time. Sorry. I've always never watchd TV during the week, its actually wierd to me. What I do is just get my work done, and have a blast from Friday-Sunday. Then work the next week. And repeat. Also, don't overthink things. Look at it, find the answer, move on. I did that today and it worked, I get home at 3:30 and was done before practice at 6:30. Sometimes you just got to find the will to get the work done, early.....if you want some more advice (although this is a lot :P), you can email me i guess.
Don't waste your life. You are blessed compared to many others. Although it may be hardwork, what else is there to live for? You can work hard and fulfill your dreams (you can change your dreams down the road, if needed btw) or you can have an easy life, but not really accomplish anything.
Advice: You have to have some humor to get through life. Don't laugh at everything, but also don't be so serious or depressed all the time.
Advice: Personally, i took one AP as a sophmore, two AP classes as a junior, and now three as a senior. Don't have more than I did in my years. That's my opinion. Maybe you should lessen the work load. Talk to a guidance counselor (if he/she is good). You NEED to be happy to be alive everyday. The goal in life.....listening?.......is when you're older to wake up invigorated and excited for the day. Eventually get a good job THAT YOU LIKE.
General Good Life Plan:
1. Work hard.
2. Play hard.
3. Buy a plasma screen TV with surround sound and soft leather couches (or whatever makes you happy)
Advice: Everyday I look up some jokes and I carry them with me. I'm well known for randomly cheering people up.
you might want to tell your parents this so they can drill you to go to the books directly, and to work even faster then the usual. try to get your adrenaline running! once you do that you'll feel less stressed, and more motivated to quicken your pace! let's forget the fact that you were once head of the class, so let's just go by step by step to improve your grade. you may want to take easier classes next year since it really seems hard for you now later on in the second semester. otherwhise just calm down, and focus on an individual assignment one by one. you may even try doing the hw in your spare time at school to loosen your workload. instead of staring at the books would i recommend studying itself? just read what you can when you find yourself not doing anything, or go for a quick run. often then can i get the blood in my brain working again so i can do my work without stopping once in a while. don't ever forget your dream! you were just sidetracked for a moment possibly ever since the workload took it's toll on you. you have the capability to be successful, just manage your time better, and organize your assignments if you can before you go home so you can just start doing them immediately!
