Do you mean that you have $2,000 to spend while you're in Seattle or that you are looking to spend 2k on the entire trip, including airfare? Without knowing where you are coming from I have to caution you that airfare and hotel could easily eat up most of your budget.
If I were trying to keep cost down, I'd stay at a hotel outside of the city but on a bus or light rail line. Try the south suburbs like Renton or Federal Way for affordable accommodations. You can expect to pay about $110 per night. You’ll spend at least $130 per night in the city.
You can bet on spending at least $25 per meal at a sit-down restaurant. You’re going to be here 8 days, so that’s $600 off the top! Unless you go to Dick's Drive-In (which I suggest eating at least one meal there). You can feed 2 people for $5 at Dick's Drive-In: http://www.ddir.com/About_Us.html. Yum!
While our tourist attractions can’t be beat, they come at a price.
* Space Needle Observation desk: $18 per person
* Seattle Art Museum: First Thursday of the month, admission is free. Otherwise it’s about $15 per person.
* Ride the Duck: $25 per person
* Pacific Science Center: $14 per person
* Pike Place Market is free to walk around in, but I guarantee you’ll find something that you ‘must’ have!
If you had $2k to spend on the trip, and only spent $1,000 on airfare, and managed to get a hotel for $110 per night, you would only have $230 to spend on attractions, food and bus fare. I’m afraid $2,000 isn’t enough for two people to spend 8 days in Seattle, including airfare and lodging.
Edit to add: I just did an expedia search - they say you should expect to pay about $1,000 per person for the flight plus hotel. I'm afraid my first guess was right - $2,000 just isn't enough for two people to enjoy Seattle for as long as you plan on visiting.
try to find a package deal online goto like hotwire.com or something. Or stay at like a holiday Inn there not too pricey! Check hotels that have free breakfast that's always nice so you don't have to worry about it in the morning! (:
