solve log base 4 (5x-1)=3
solve 3^x=(1/9)^x+3
AND/OR
solve and round to the hundredths -3e^2x+16=5

I did the vertex one at your other post
x² - 6x + 10 = 0
x = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)] / 2a
x = [6 ± √(36 - 40)] / 2
x = [6 ± √(-4)] / 2
x = [6 ± √(4i²)] / 2 ... [b/c i² = -1]
x = [6 ± 2i] / 2
x = 3 ± i
x³ + 8c³ = x³ + (2c)³
= (x + 2c)(x² - 2cx + 4c²) ... [using the rule a³ + b³ = (a + b)(a² - ab + b²)]
4^x = 11
take logs to base 10 of both sides:
x log 4 = log 11
x = log 11 / log 4 ←←[exact answer]
x = 1.7297 ←←[approximate answer to 4 dec pl]
EDIT: oops they want to the nearest hundredth ... so x = 1.73 (to nearest hundredth)
2 log x + log 11 = log x² + log 11
= log (x² * 11)
= log (11x²)
log (base 4) (5x - 1) = 3
4³ = 5x - 1
64 = 5x - 1
5x = 65
x = 13
