My dog has a bump about the size of my thumb and it is underneath his fur and skin. It doesn't seem to bother him. It is not a round bump and it's not visible, but I can feel it when I touch his side. It's able to move around and slide around under his skin, I'm kinda worried because it got a little bigger within the last week, any ideas what it is? Thanks

Bump Under Dogs Skin
If your dog has had a rabies vaccine within the past few weeks or month then it might be a reaction to that. If not then you want to have the vet check it out. Dogs can get 'fatty tumors' which are usually soft and moveable. The vet usually draws a few cells out and looks under the microscope. If anything is abnormal then it is usually sent out for analysis. Any lump that is hard and non-moveable is usually more likely to be a problem. Fast growing soft ones are sometimes not a problem but do need to have the vet examine. Get it checked out at your earliest chance.
If its hot, painful, weepy, greenish, has a head or bothering him he needs to see the vet on Monday.
If its just a lump, not really doing anything or bothering him it can probably wait until the Friday or following Monday, after the New Year.
The vet will likely take a small sample with a needle, they may be able to tell you very quickly what type of lump it is and what they want to do. Its very likely to be a lipoma (fatty cyst), sebaceous cyst or something similar.
Even if its something more serious, which is rare, the best treatment is to have it removed asap.
Any lumps or bumps which persist for more than a few days should be checked by a vet. Especially as it's gotten larger, I'd have it checked immediately. It could be almost anything, ranging from something relatively harmless to a cancerous tumor.
It sounds like a harmless fatty tumor. My dog has 3 now. I can't say for sure whether or not your dog has a harmless tumor. You really need to get him to a vet for a diagnosis just to rule out cancer. On my dogs right side, he has a squishy one like your dog, on his left side he has one that is hard as a rock. They took a very tiny syringe and took a sample and it also turned out to be a fatty tumor.
I freaked out when I noticed them and rushed him to the vet. It's the best thing you can do for your dog. Never guess what something like that will turn out to be. But if they are just fatty tumors, you will be so relieved. If it is cancerous, you can start treatment before it spreads.
I'd get it checked by a vet. Most of these lumps and bumps are fatty cysts, but some are more serious, and need to come off.
It sounds like a fatty deposit. Having it grow should be as much a concern and taking the dog a vet as soon as possible should be your next option.
unless you are rich don't bother taking to vet. they will charge a ton for tests and removal. it's usually nothing and if it is cancer, they will charge you $2000 - $8000

Most likely the mass that you feel in your dog is a harmless lipoma common in dogs, especially older ones. Please see the links below.
