I've just taken minocycline for 6 months (for bad skin) and it did absolutely nothing and you can imagine how I feel. Now I don't know whether to go back to the incompetent nhs doctors as they could let me down again. Which of the millions of treatments out there actually works?
Update:Well at this stage I don't care about side effects. I'm sure in America they treat it a lot better, because here in England they haven't got a clue, and it's just incompetence, because in this day and age when they're curing cancer and cloning people, and they know exactly what causes it, so it's just we're getting a raw deal. If we were celebrities and had plenty of duckets it'd be sorted out with the click of a finger.

ok it depends how bad your skin is...
if you are getting 6-12 new pimples a month and have lots of redness and some that don't seem to rise over the skin ask for another prescription.
amoxicillan (<<something pronounced like that) can work along with a topical treatment like differin. Just make sure to keep moisturised.
Cetaphil lotion is great and will not clog your pores, and keeps you hydrated all day.
If your skin is worse than that there is the way i got fixed.
Vitamens.
do some research on the Perricone system it really helped me out when i thought i was gonna be stuck with i forever.!!
Best of luck!!

I have tried at least dozen things...I keep going back to the doc because they dont know what will work for me.
The next and last thing I will try is accutane, its the strongest stuff out there with a lot of side effects, but if your skin is really bad and nothing works, its an option.
But Id try other antibiotics and retinoids first, things that dont have a lot of risks...
