After working out, and at one other time throughout the day. Let's say you work out at night. You would have a shake after you work out, but you would also have one between breakfast and lunch.
I'm not lifting for bulk, but I want to sculpt leaner muscles and tone. I think that if I drank the shake before, I'd be giving myself more power and energy to lift more and lift longer. That creates bulk.
By drinking the shake after, I am repairing the muscles and giving them nutrients that were depleted during the workout.
I drink it w/in 20 minutes of completing my workout.
I'm not saying that this is correct, but it's what I do and it works.
