start dilating. I know it's different for everyone but how far along were you when you found out that you had started dilating. Just curious as to when you're "expected" to start. Thanks!
i started to dilate about 2 1/2-3 weeks before my due date and then my daughter didn't want to come out so i only dilated to 5 cm and i had to get a c-section so you can start to dilate at any time but the crappy part is you can also stop at any time good luck on your pregnancy and if you do get a c-section (just in case i never planned it)i didn't feel a thing and the meds they gave were awesome i can't say i felt pain before during or after it was awesome!!! :) so don't let anyone scare you because your asking a complete different question but ppl get crazy and start saying bad stuff it's not bad at all just a little advice because i was so scarred but i wanna do it again GOOD LUCK :)

Well you know you are dilating when you start having your contractions, as your cervix is starting to shorten to help the baby down the birth canal.
I was 3cms when I got the hospital and that is with 5 hours of contractions.
All the best.

When i was in labor. Never started before then.
When I was pregnant with both of my girls, I was dialated at 2cm for my whole last month.
