i'll give you an example, if my little tries to tell me that 2 plus 2 equals five, i don't say "that's wrong". i ask him to pick up two bits of lego and then another two bits of lego and then we count them out and see how many we have.
this, one of my favourite quotes, by John Locke:
"It is one thing to show a man he is in error and another to put him in possession of the truth".
i know which method has proved more effective in my case, when i have been in the wrong.
good day to you breezey, eink and dreamy :)
hey (((lorry))), how's it going?
edit: absolutely glorious dreamy, i am just loving it!
I take the time to try and help a person that doesn't understand something. I don't call the person ignorant that is so hurtful. I find there has to be thoughtful consideration in the delivery of any "help" offered though because the person has perhaps been surrounded by ones that didn't take the opportunity to help them and when help comes from someone further away than those closest it can have some emotional fallout towards those that could have and should have helped the person in the first place.
I always try to help. However much I laughed at this clip & it made me feel intelligent for once. I also think it's cruel & not something that anyone should do - giving the world the opportunity to laugh at another human being much less your girl friend. We all have things we find hard to grasp - I find learning other languages very difficult. I'm sure people would be in hysterics if they ever tried to teach me Welsh & I live in Wales.
It depends on whether they are open to me helping them understand. Sometimes people don't like being told what to do or cannot be bothered learning something new.
I would take the time to help them if they were willing.
I like to try to help someone, rather than just think of them as ignorant, because i certainly don't understand everything and i try to treat others how i want to be treated.. You can learn a lot through helping someone out. Not just about them but also about yourself.. (-:

I share what I know & understand. True knowledge & wisdom isn't ours until given away & it's the telling that strengthens my own understanding.
only if they are perceptive to you .you can tell when people have a block up in that case ----- em
