If you haven't digested the alcohol yet, and you throw it up, it will help keep you from getting MORE drunk. If you feel drunk, then that alcohol has already been digested, but at least you won't get more drunk.
Throwing up probably won't help sober you up, in fact, it is more likely to make you feel more drunk, because the alcohol that you are throwing up is in your stomach, it has not yet been absorbed by the system, therefore it won't make you any less drunk. Also, you are removing water from your system, which could be absorbed into your blood to dilute the alcohol and make you less drunk.
However, it's arguable that if you throw up, whatever alcohol is currently in your stomach will be rejected, rather than absorbed into your system. So you are unlikeley to get much MORE drunk, but you certainly wont get less drunk.
I think it sobers me up a little bit but the best way to do that is to stop drinking, eat something, drink plenty of water and try to get some sleep. Once you hit the point of throwing up, voluntary or not, it probably means it it time to stop.
It should sober you up a little bit. Alcohol makes you drunk when it gets into your bloodstream tho so it would really just depend on how long it had been since you drank the alcohol.
throwing up will only get rid of the alcohol in your body that hasn't been processed, it will not sober you up but it will keep you from getting drunker
doesnt work for me gotta say....but im sure it probably does sober you up a little, but if you are at the point of puking its not going to be enough to notice really...

by the time you throw up, you are at maximum drunkeness capacity, so you'll still be drunk, your body is rejecting the rest to avoid alcohol poisoning
slow down! no reason to drink so much!
