On some of the questions I have responded to I have seen a frightening level of scientific ignorance and claims made that have ZERO evidence. Do these people actually believe what they are saying? Do they understand that in REAL science you can't just make statements and claim that they are true unless you have EVIDENCE to back up your claims? Is anybody else as dismayed by this level of ignorance, which is sometimes WILLFUL ignorance? These questions usually involve the Big Bang or evolution, and claims are made that are just absurd... when will it end?

As long as there is religion, there will be deliberate ignorance.
(P.S. I loved your "Intercourse the penguin!" answer. That's a great sketch.)
when the last human dies
Well, I can't disagree with "hznfrst" but to put it more succinctly, it will end when humans are extinct.
When religion dies and gets out of the way.
What I see is more in the lines of the Dunning-Kruger effect rather than outright ignorance. Most of the wingnut theories aren't from ignorant people, they know the accepted theories, they just don't think the experts who came up with them got them correct.
google "dunning-kruger effect"
Noticed too...good question!
it will end when the human race and religion die out
