My first suggestion would be, if you're looking for a new computer, try a website like http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ for custom built gaming computers. I suggest that you opt for the desktop if that is all of the storage you can get on the laptop. Games will fill your hard drive very quickly if that 's what it's going to be designated for.
Desktop computers are mainly better for gaming because they have better airflow for components, easily customizable options when upgrading components. As well as the battery life on the laptop probably won't last as long as you would like if you're planning on being portable with it.
If it's primarily for gaming, then the laptop is the better computer.
But you could just get the desktop computer, which is better overall than the laptop, and get a different graphics card and put it in your computer.
