I am going to buy a laptop. I am currently cuztomizing it off Dell. I have two options to choose from.
Do I get the lowest RAM(2GB) from Dell and buy cheaper RAM(8GB) from Crucial for $53.99?
-or-
Do I buy RAM(8GB) from Dell for $120?
The answer seems obvious to pick from crucial and save money, but I guess my real question is, "Is there a difference between 8GB RAM from Dell and 8GB RAM from Crucial?

Not enough info ... RAM has a 'size' (2 GB, 4 GB, etc.) but it also has a Type (DDR, DDR2, DDR3) and a Speed (shown in megahertz or gigahertz) ...
If the RAM from Crucial is so much cheaper than the RAM from Dell, you are most likely looking at a lower Type and slower Speed of RAM.
Make sure you are looking at the proper Type and Speed of RAM on the Crucial website before you make that value judgement.
Another issue to consider is just how easy is it to upgrade the memory in that Dell laptop? Dells are not know for being easy to work on, and it may prove to be a big headache if you choose to do it yourself, whereas if you order it from them with the extra memory installed, then you don't have to worry about that.
Often times when you buy a specific brand of computer (such as Dell) the motherboards only support certain types/makes of RAM. It is very possible that if you buy the Crucial RAM it wont be compatible with your system. You should definitely do more research before you make your decision
Crucial is a nice company and makes good RAM so you shouldn't have a problem with that.
About the Dell Laptop, I'd go for another brand.
