I know b.c. Is before Jesus's birth and a.d. Is after his birth but he was born on December 25 not the 31 where we change years so was Jesus born in the B.C. Or the A.D? If B.C then is the abbreviation accurate?

Jesus evidently was born in the month ofEthanim (Sept./Okt.) of the year 2 B.C.E., was baptized about the same time of the year in 29 C.E., and died about 300 p.m. on Friday, the 14th day of the spring month of Nisan (March/April), 33 C.E..
Taking from Josephus, the most famous Jewish Historian of the First Century, Herod died on the year
4 BCE. (BCE stands for before common era) According to the gospel of Matthew this Herod was the one who ordered the slaughter of the babies in Bethlehem. To escape death, the gospel says that Jesus was taken down to Egypt but in the same year, probably by the end, Herod died and the parents of Jesus brought him back to Israel. So, Jesus was born about March/April of 4 BCE and Herod died about November/December.

The dating system was not as defined as you imagine, The Julian Calendar was in effect and the exact date of Christ's birth is unknown but determined by modern astronomers to have been a couple months later. This is determined by the positioning of stars so that a bright convergence took place. This bright light would have been the beacon for the Magi from the East to have followed...last week of Feb and first week of March...right now.

The current calendar is based on a rough estimation of when Jesus was born. No one can pin an exact date to it.
More importantly is the fact that Jesus was born in the Mosaic age; the Law of Moses was still in effect in Israel. The age of the church didn't begin until Pentecost.

Lol .. Jesus was NOT born on December 25th, that's a fact .. even a Christian will tell you that they just "Celebrate" his birthday on this day but there is absolutely nothing to indicate that that was when he was born . . on the contrary it is thought that he was born sometime during May if I'm not mistaken.
He was born During the Common Era ( A.D. )
Obviously the birth of Jesus was so important to our history, that everything is measured as either before or after. Focus on that.
I believe he was actually born 7–2 (probably 4) BC during Fall instead of Winter.
