Which Ethnicities Have You Been Mistaken For?
...And what is your true ethnicity? Do you think you look like a typical member of said ethnicity?
I've been mistaken for a German several times. Twice when I was in Germany (used to go there quite a lot), and countless times in France (my pals used to call me "The Nazi" or "The SS" because of my looks...nothing political here). Which is a bit ironic since I'm half-Jewish half-English and have brown eyes. Though it must be said I look quite like my English mother who has very Nordic looks.
I've also been asked if I was an American in France, oh and I was told that I look like an Aussie by my relatives.

Lots, when I was in the UK I got taken as French a lot. Also Spanish and Italian and even Jewish and Arab. It's funny since I'm actually German and 1/4 Italian.
I have been asked if I'm Mediterranean mostly-Spanish, Greek. Once a Turkish lady mistook me for another Turk. Even been asked if I had connections to the middle east.
I'm Irish/English ancestry, and have traced my ancestry back 500 years on my dad's side, and into the 1800's on my mothers. Not one person outside the UK/ Ireland in that time.The darker looks come from my Irish side--my grandmother had black hair, brown eyes and olive skin; I have dark brown hair,light olive skin (pale in winter but never burns and does tan) and hazel brown eyes.
I've been mistaken for as a Dane, Dutch, Scandinavian, etc. My ethnicity is Nordic, since I'm quite tall, have straight fair brown hair, deep-set blue eyes. I'm actually of Prussian heritage from my father's side and Swiss-German from my mother's....
Mestizo mexican, but I think I look more arab than mestizo, especially when I have a beard. The only genetic input that influences those misconceptions is 50% Italian dna which clearly dominated my Irish and eastern European ancestries...but people usually guess right about the Italian.
Filipino, Mexican, Pacific Islander, and Native American...I don't think I look like a typical member (well I do share ancestry with Indigenous Mexican people from Chiapas and the Yucatan). .

I'm an American of full gentile Italian(Bologna,Italy)blood/ancestry yet many strangers that I have encountered often mistake me for French,Spaniard,Portuguese and once as Romanian and I have a cousin that's blond haired & green eyed yet she often get's mistaken for German or Swedish.The gentile White European race in general may possess any hair color & eye color and skin tone complexion varies greatly due to Europe's( as a whole)diverse physical climate conditions.
