I don't have any favourite athlete personally but if I was supporting greek ones so much as some people do,then I would surely say Taighanides...5 medals on swimming in paralympics ppl...pure quality
+a million for Nick Galis. almost he's the single which presented basketball to Greeks whilst he desperate to leave us of a and are available and play in Greece. @ george __k2 you ultimately asked her out? stable success mate!
My favorite one is Nikos Kaklamanakis. I like the way he express himself in the interviews, he is very cute and seems to be a person that uses often his brain.
But if I was to refer to someone, it would be a few...
Nikos Galis (Basketball) The person that changed the history of Greek basketball, turned an average team into champions and made EVERYONE watch basketball (even my 78 year old grandma) back in 1987. "ELA GALI!!! VALE TO TO TRIPONTO!!!"
Demis Nikolaidis (Football). The person that rejected a huge contract from Olympiakos in 1995 in order to play for the team of his heart, AEK for a significant less amount of money.
Today he is the partial owner of the team and its president.
Kostas Kenteris (spinter). Regardless of his adventure in the 2004 Olympics, he made Greeks proud by competing directly with the other super athletes of sprinting.
Nikolaos Kaklamanakis has to be my fav as I watched him growing up and spent many summer days at the beach with him and my best friend's son http://ukwindsurfing.com/information/profiles/adam... Adamantios Pepelasis watching them wind surfing for rival teams and also together for Greece.
Many good memories of those days.
Zoi - up until he surfed for Greece (I left Athens after that and my friend's son went to Cambridge University to study) - his whole life was focused on windsurfing - he's (or was) extremely shy and rarely speaks (or spoke) and I never saw him with a girl. I wonder if he still surfs at Vouliagmeni surfing club like he used to - Pepelasis was at Varkiza.

And, he is a great athlete too.
I am not heavily into sports like I used to be.
