I just started classical guitar for a year but I've confused and I thought it was the same as acoustic. I like rock music so in the future I want to do electric. So if I like rock should I start with acoustic instead. Also is it possible to play classical then switch to acoustic and electic?

Are you taking classical lessons?
If you are, then keep it up. It will be a HUGE help to you down the road. I'd stick with it for a good year and then go straight to electric. The switch will be easy.
I started with a classical, too! lol But after a year of playing it (I played rock music on it) I finally upgraded to an electric. I think it's better to learn on an electric, maybe even a semi-hollow (which is what I have) because you can get the electric sound and acoustic, and since you are wanting to play rock music it's better in the long run. I think people should get acoustics after they've already had an electric because the majority of rock music is electric. buying an acoustic limits what you can play and the type of sounds you can get. An acoustic electric would be good if you're only looking to play acoustic songs and want to amplify the sound, but otherwise I say get an electric.
Yes everything is possible.Classical guitar is way harder to play. If you like rock you can start with acoustic and than play the electric:) Good Luck!
I would start out small with the acoustic... it shouldn't be TOO TOO hard cus you have all the finger movements down...... but they're called different things! Then I would gradually move to electric! My bro is in this process right now!
i suggest buying an electric cause if you wanna play rock you'd need electric guitar for distortion, and even if you're playing classical you'd be able to do it on clean electric.
Yeah you should, it's possible. It might be different from what your used to playing but it's not like the world will end.
get a fender squire strat pack
