Which laptop is better for school and gaming?

I'm leaning towards the first one, but can an expert tell me which one is better for gaming and school? The first one is cheaper and seems to have better stats, but can anyone tell my why?

Out of the two given, I would definitely choose the first one, as it has a faster processor, better graphics, and just better overall specs.
However I have heard from many a source that Windows 8 is a terrible OS, so you might want to seek a laptop with Windows 7, which is in my opinion by far Microsoft's best OS.
But out of the two given, definitely the first one.
