book would you like to see adapted for the big screen providing it had good cast and fair budget?
or one that has already been adapted would like a remake with a bigger budget and better effects?
i watched "IT" the other day and although its a fantastic book and scared me sh*tless, the film was quite poor (but i guess was made 20 odd years ago) so i'd like that to be remade and insomnia to be adapted too

Stephen King is my FAV author and so are his movies, however, most of his books that are adapted into movies rerally SUCK because there are so many great details left out of the movies that were in the book. I would love to see each and everyone one of his books and short stories made into a movie that is decent. The Stand is my favorite, but the movie left so much out, there was a lot left to be desired. Same with Rose Red, The Shining, Dreamcatcher, It, and TommyKnockers, same as it always will be....just stick with the books....the imagination of your own mind is far better than what movie magic can do!
For me it would have to be
"The Talisman" - a totally terrific book!
or
"The Long Walk" - a short story or novella he wrote
as Richard Bachman - really awesome!
or
"Dolan's Cadillac" - a true revenge story!
or
"Insomnia" - that one still creeps me out!
They are all great stories - but I'm not sure if they would
really translate to the big screen.
I think one reason is that we don't get to "hear" what the characters are thinking - directors make us rely upon actor's faces to tell the story and it's just not the same!!!
Good question!
I thought "Apt Pupil" (novella) would make a great film. It was made a few years back and recieved TERRIBLE reviews. Given the description, I didn't bother seeing it...it sounded as though it had almost nothing to do with the King story!
IT scared the **** out of me too >.<, but I guess Cell would be a nice film adaption, its a great story and spin off of the zombie plot
The Dark Tower!!! I'd love to see it adapted by the people who made the Harry Potter movies!!! I love to play with my friends about who would make the best Gunslinger...I still say Clint Eastwood!!
THe Eyes of the Dragon would make a good movie.
It is not a horror book. It is a fantasy book written for his daughter when she was 13.
I have read it twice. It would make a very good movie, if done properly.
I would most definitely like to see Cell made into a movie. Stephen destroyed civilization in the first twenty pages. I loved it.
The Stand - it would have to be a very good miniseries since it's so long, but a much better one than the original.
Cell
I like Rose Madder, I not sure if that book was made into a movie yet.
