I use to notice the white stretchy discharge, but I don't. I notice discharge, but its not stretchy. It's just white, and milky like. I've been tested for std's, and I think I have a yeast infection. Could that be the reason I don't have the stretchy discharge anymore? The other day I had brown discharge. My period was at the very beginning of this month, lasted 4-5 days. If I don't see the stretchy discharge what does that mean? That I don't ovulate? And why did I have the brown discharge WEEKS after my period, which has never happened. I'm not on any birth control, or medicine. I was taking anxiety pills, but stopped because i didn't like the side effects, and only took them for like 3 days. And that was about a little more than a month ago.

The amount and consistency of your discharge can change at any time due to diet, water intake, hormones, exercise, medication, illness, alcohol, drugs, etc.
Just because you don't noticed it being more clear and stretchy doesn't mean you don't ovulate... you could still get pregnant. Some girls have mid-cycle spotting and that's normal also.
Different Types of Discharge:
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown. This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle.
Different types of infections:
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
