Athene was one of my favorites because she is the goddess of wisdom and of battle. Also, her symbol is the owl and I love owls.
My other favorite goddess is Artemis. She is goddess of the moon, and of unmarried women. She is an archer, and is 'one with nature' almost like an elf. (and I don't mean the short ones) Also, she is independent, and a night owl. JUST LIKE ME!!
She and Athene are everything I stand for and wish to become.
My renowned is the parable of Endymion - the shepherd boy that Selene (or Diana) the moon goddess falls in love with. And yet even after being granted via Zeus that he, a trifling mortal, could be allowed to marry the goddess of the moon, he's not content textile. He cheats with the queen of heaven, Zeus' very own spouse Hera, and is solid into the stars perpetually as punishment. joyful tale. i'm additionally prepared on Orpheus & Eurydice... Peace to you.
I like them all, but artemis has been my favorite since I was twelve. She's independent, strong, and takes no s*** from any man. She's also the goddess of the hunt, while still protecting the wilds.
He isn't a god, but my favorite divine figure from Greek Mythology is Prometheus. Willing to do what he felt was right despite the repercussions. I imagine having his liver eaten out and regrown each day isn't pleasant, but I'm certainly glad for the fire he gave to man.
The metaphor is awesome.
The Titan, whose aspect is foresight, Prometheus. He is awesome in the literal sense.
