Why when recording does my Minecraft become laggy?
I can play Minecraft on pretty much the highest settings with render distance far etc. without any problems. Then when I begin recording with Camtasia it suddenly becomes a little laggy. Enough to irritate me and make my videos look un professional. Is there anyway I can solve this problem?

It's either because of your HDD or your CPU.
If you record and save it as uncompressed than you need a very fast HDD or even a second HDD on which to record.
If you compress the video while recording than your CPU will be very loaded and thus your game will get laggy...
Also Camtasia isn't really a good recorder for games, it's usually used for desktop recording.
The best program for recording games is Fraps.
