I want to get me a winchester.
But i´, not shure on the calibre.
btw. i don´t plan to use it for hunting or self defence.
It will be just a "fun gun" that i will use for "murdering" paper tragets ;)
I know that a 30-30 has a lot more energy than a 45.lc
but does this really make a difference if you want to shoot targets abou 100 yards away?
Update:All rifles, shotguns and rounds (even sniper rifles) are free for everyone aged 18...
But as said a pistol calibre is simple to dangerous /S for private citizen ;)
btw this is really not a joke.
its called "law"!

if you are just going to shoot paper targets, I would opt for a .22.. I think C_P-A_45 gave you some good choices of .22 lever rifles from which to pick if that's your thing (thumbs up).
The .45 LC is not going to be anywhere near as loud or have quite as much recoil as a .30-30. But the ammunition is likely to be a bit more costly. The cartridge will have a high trajectory because the round, when fired from a rifle, simply does not get a significant increase in velocity when shooting standard .45 LC. The faster-burning pistol powder used to load it is going to give similar performance to a .44 Special when fired from a .44 Magnum rifle. You might see a 100 to 150 fps increase in muzzle velocity--as compared to a revolver--but not much more. But it would be a better "fun rifle" if you aren't hunting.
I can recommend the 92 with its pistol-caliber cartridges. The short version is lightweight and exceptionally handy, a real joy to put up to your shoulder. Personally, I'd go with 44 Maagnum (and plink with 44 Special), but 45 Colt isn't a bad pick.
I also like the 86 and the 71, but never have cared a lot for the 94.
If you want a lever action shooter, why not a .22 rimfire.
Winchester 9422
Henry Golden Boy
Marlin 39A
Browning BL-22
etc
...and these are your choices ? ....boy, i would get me one of those "free" Weatherby's, instead...
Get the .45 Colt. It will have less recoil. However, a .22 will punch holes in paper and be cheaper to shoot.
For fun>>> Why not a 22 magnum>> I picked up a Golden boy and everyone wants to shoot it ..
You'll get a little more drop with the .45 LC. That's an old cavalry round from Spanish-American War days. They're very effective out of a rifle though because the longer barrel gives the powder a better chance to burn. But for actual hunting..... you'd want the 30-30.
Think about the price of ammo too. Not sure what these two cartridges cost now. All the right wingers bought every bullet in every store in the country when Obama got elected, and it tripled the cost of ammo for everybody. So choose something you can afford to shoot.
