So my son's first birthday is December 19th and I have absolutely no idea what to do. I know I have like two months but I want to get the invitations out a month in advance and I want to make sure I have everything I need beforehand. Since it will be freezing cold outside I need something we can do inside, but obviously I don't want it to be some HUGE deal because it's his first birthday and he won't remember it.

Also, I have some of my friends I want to invite, but my son's dad has an extreme dislike for one of them, who happens to be pretty close with my son. I know if I invite him then my son's dad would be upset, but at the same time, I don't want to upset my friend, either. So I'm not exactly sure what to do about that.
