ants on a log, deviled eggs, little weenies or meatballs, taco dip, chips, veggies and dip, little sandwiches, regular party stuff should be good! why not get some extra dump trucks to use as serving dishes for your table to go with the theme, put some chips or sandwiches in the back of the truck! get some little mini orange cones to put on the table too! have hard hats for all your guests, make some construction zone signs from cardboard to put up everywhere! sounds fun!

I don't think some of those foods are appropriate for a 1 year old. How is a 1 year old supposed to eat pizza and celery? Maybe y'all feed your kids that, but I don't feed my nephew that. But you could have bite sized foods for the children to eat, and all finger foods. Like chopped hot dogs, small peices of fruit like pears. Animal crackers, But you can leave whole ones for the adults.. You should get Bob the Builder to go with the construction theme, and maybe you should serve individual cupcakes to the children because it's cleaner.

My son merely became a million this previous october and we actually have a large kin and that i spent way too lots funds and overplanned. many people rsvp'd and did not coach. i ended up with a ton of greater effective nutrients, goodies, and video games. yet i did shop funds on plates and cups by ability of merely procuring the smallest quantity of the "themed" products and then going to the dime save to purchase plates with the comparable shade sceme and the adults used those on an identical time as my son and the different toddlers used the themed plates and cups. With the party being in june and out of doors you have a "deliver a dish" party the place as you're to blame for the cake, refreshments, and perchance some hotdogs and then the different travellers might desire to deliver chips and different issues. I had a number of of youthful toddlers attending the party so i merely offered coloring books and bubbles on the dime save and had them set up. shop the video games and different stuff for events your son will remember.

That is a cute theme, I just did that with my son. We had mini hamburgers, potatoe salad, cake, juice made w/ orange sherbert and ginger ale, black olive... have kids put them on their fingers. I made my sosn cake like a construction cone, it was easy. The top was rice krispies and the bottom was cake.

The bite size corndog nuggets went over great with my daughter's party and friends. Carrot sticks, gold fish crackers, juice boxes for kiddie drinks ( less spills). Ask other parents if there is any food the would like to see there, or not to see there.

I'd think about the other guests more. Prepare foods they'll like. Feed your kids and the other kids what he already enjoys. A first bday is more for you then the kid, he won't remember it.

Also, get 2 cakes. One smaller one for him to blow the candles out and dig in with his hands. The other for the guests to enjoy.

Ice cream and cake are a must!

Maybe you could do hot dogs & hamburgers for the adults and chicken nuggets for the kids.

Cheese and crackers would work for kids & adults.

Chips & dip.

Veggie or fruit tray (fruit might be softer for the little ones) with dip.

Mini-pizzas! But make them yourself so they're healthy.

How about individual jellies with treats in, like strawberry jelly with strawberry lances at the bottom, orange with fruit segments, lime with apple slices etc...

Finger food ideas, maybe veggie sticks with dips, you can either buy them in the supermarket or make your own (usually they're just yoghurt with 'stuff' :D).

I'd assume cuz the kids are young, you don't want to over-sugar them, so how about grapes/ strawberries/ raspberries or bitesize veg like mushrooms/ cherry tomatoes etc to pick at instead of sweeties?

Also, toast squares are probably better than crisps...

Cake, Soda, cheese puffs (not crunchy) finger foods like crackers, MAYBE even some soft fruit slices?
