So I read online that my 2000 dodge neon has a pair of dash speakers (3.5 inch) and when I look in my dash I see speaker coverings for them. Do all/most cars have dash speakers? Do I need a special head unit to accommodate more than 4 speakers (2 rear deck, 2 front doors, and 2 in dash)? This is the head unit I was planning on buying- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035KDK72/ref=ox...
So I'm basically looking for advice on what to do with these dash speakers. Are they even worth replacing?

Check with crutchfield they are a good source for what fits.
Most cars now have dash speakers. If you get a new head-unit the wiring harness should accommodate for the extra speakers. I wouldn't worry about replacing them.
Good luck!
