I have been looking into getting some sort of aftermarket sound system in my VW, I have read a little about a component system with the woofers and tweeter. Are these good for loud bass music? I know a truck woofer with a box is best but I don't have the money. I recently bought a clarion head unit but as of speakers I don;t know what is best. Sound I get a component system or just regular speakers? Whats worth the price?

getting component speakers makes it easier to separate the bands so that the true highs will go mainly to the tweeters and true mids will go mainly to the midwoofers. honestly, i hear no difference in terms of coaxial vs component, but components allow you to angle the tweeter more towards you than coaxials (which you cant even angle it at all), giving you the best sound of highs (high frequency waves tend to be shorter and dissapate easier) components also come with a crossover which basically separate the highs from the mids, but this can be a hassle to mount.
bass-wise, i really wouldnt recommend using much bass for neither component nor coaxial, because these speakers are meant to mainly reproduce highs and mids, not lows (thats what subs are for).
if i were you, id base it on the speakers you currently have...if you have coaxials, get coaxials, otherwise if you have components get components. components add installation time, but if you think its worth it to be able to angle the highs towards you, you can get a better sound than coaxials
