My radio was left on and it drained the battery overnight.
Had the battery recharged but the car wouldn't start. Took it to a shop today and they said the starter's toast...does this usually happen?? HELP !

If you can jump start the car, it's not the starter.
the car is pretty old, i would assume that the starter is not original but i could be wrong.
Any codes? you will want a test gadget to benefit for codes and visual show unit parameters to get the solutions. It feels like the coolant temp sensor to me. additionally examine for vacuum leaks.
It could happen. I would get a second opinion could just be a bad cable.
