I'm about to move to paris france for 2 years and i'm going to the american school of paris and i was wondering if anyone went there or goes there and if they can rank it from 1 to 10
I am the mom of a student. I think you will like it there, but I have a young child. The environment seems to be very American-like for the students in the Upper School. There are sports and other activities even a prom. I don't find the academics very strong in the Lower School and have heard mixed reviews from other moms who have kids in the Upper School.
Paris is full of air pollution, poor people aggressively trying to sell junk on the sidewalk, and pick-pockets and thieves gallore. A gang was trying to force me buy subway tickets off of them instead of the subway staff, some girls at the train station had their suitcases stollen just when they took their eyes off of them for a moment, and when I left a husky guy from Texas in the train was swearing and cursing like no tomorrow that his wallet was stollen in Paris. Years earlier, my father's passport was pick-pocketed off of him. I don't think its such a nice place like romantic stories and advertisements make it out to be. I think there was a Yahoo article about it too, being the least friendly place to visit.

My good friend went there a few years ago, and loved it. Well, she might have just loved Paris, but that was what brought her to Paris!
