I need to drive from downtown fort worth to the Grenada theater in Dallas. I'll be driving from Ft Worth to Dallas and back on a Friday around rush hour, so I need suggestions on routes and times so that I can get to Dallas and be back in South Fort Worth before 7:30pm.
Update:SLR: thanks for the tip. Can I assume from your answer that coming into downtown on the 30 isn't a realistic option? What if I came in from farther south in Ft Worth, along the 20? Any thoughts?

The way with the least traffic from south Ft. Worth would be to take 35W to 121, then merge onto 183. Exit 161, which becomes the George Bush turnpike. Then take the tollway south all the way to downtown. Or you could take 183 east all the way to 35 south, and then take the 45/75 exit and take 75 to Mockingbird. That's the shorter and cheaper way, but there will be loads of traffic on a Friday. For some reason people can't drive for crap on Friday afternoons! Anyway, the drive is going to suck no matter which way you go. If you have a toll tag, I'd opt for the Bush/tollway route for sure. Good luck to you!
