i own a '78 Camaro RS, 350 small block, 4 speed stick and i just got it and am new to drag. i want to rebuild the engine(because it wasn't the best when i got it) and there's a fair amount of edelbrock in there...should i stick to edelbrock or are there better brands that put out better at a good price?

my answer is try to check it out on this site http://www.autozone.com/ it's help you about auto part..
edlebrock is one of the better known areas as far as fast build goes for power. there are companys out there like brodex, callie and way more then would fit here. the best thing about running the chevy 350 motor in a race care is every possible combination of performance/racing parts have been tried and blown up a million times to get the correct possible most bang for the buck combination. research further into it before you just start throwing dollars at it. edlebrock makes good heads and intake combinations with cam and carb kits that get you a respectable amount of power. Just getting into drag racing is always fun, just remember speed is money, how fast can you afford to go is the question.
Been there, cost a small fortune to do it right. My best bet was to install a HP GM crate motor. It figured out to about the same price.
