Go to the doctor and tell them about this.
All birth controls effect your period at least in some way. It's typical to have spotting and discharge, etc when on any birth control. I've heard of some people being on their period for a full 3 months. There's all sorts of strange things that can happen. So if you're worried about it, go see a doctor. You can call up a planned parenthood near you and they can probably answer the question over the phone. They're very nice and supportive people. Good luck to you!
I found a website that says if you are on depo and you have brown discharge, you should take a pregnancy test. But I also found other websites that say it's normal. To be safe, call your Doc office and speak to the nurse, and in the meantime, take a preg test.
The brown discharge is probably nothing to worry about, esp. since you have received a birth control shot. Those hormones can knock your period out of whack, so it's normal to have some discharge.
