I want to use my old desktop computer speakers for my 50" LCD but the fixed wire doesnt let me spread them out as far as Id like.
Can I cut them and use some other type of wire as an extender? I've never soldered before but I think I could find someone if its necessary.
Thanks!
Update:uhmmm...and if i CAN extend with wire can u please tell me what kind of wire? i know that right satellite speakers usually have some kind of power wire cuz they have the on/off and volume controls. Plus an audio wire has to go thruough too right?

yes and you don't need to solder. Just cut the wire anywhere and add in any old wire buy simply twisting and taping with electrical tape.
What speed (x.xxGHz) is the Pentium 4? It is just the case unit that you are selling, or are you going to include the keyboard, mouse, PC speakers, monitor, etc.? Will the OS and other apps still be installed or do you intend to reformat the hard drive to "completely wiped", or pull/remove the hard drive? Or perhaps sell it with a clean re-install of all original software? A good condition Dell case with PSU is probably worth $30-50. Pentium 4 CPU could be worth up to $100, as long as it has not been abused. No overclocking. 512MB RAM, depending on the specs (DDR, DDR2) may be worth $25. The 80GB HDD, depending in specs (IDE or SATA, and the buffer cache size and RPMs), could be worth $30-50. The DVD-RW drive could be worth $25-35.
