I had an image file saved on my computer to share with someone else, and now I wish to delete it. But whenever I try to delete, move, save over, or otherwise alter it, it tells me I cannot. It says I must have administrative permission, but this is the only Windows account I have, and it is an Administrator account. I tried going in and changing ownership of the file, but it said I didn't have permission to. Is there any way I can get rid of this file?
Update:Well, I'm guessing it was some sort of glitch, because as I went to try something on the image, it wasn't there, and there was no trace of it anywhere. I guess it somehow deleted itself.

That used to happen to me on Windows 7. I would move or delete a file but it would still be visible in Windows Explorer. Just press the F5 key to refresh the file list and the moved/deleted files will vanish.

Try doing it in Safe Mode. Hit the F8 key after the BIOS and before the Windows load screens.
Try downloading the "Take Ownership" Registry Entry.
It's great and completely safe, i used it to delete a stubborn Skyrim mod.
