The TNT Channel promoted a new show that aired last night. Ray Romano, Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher, all of whom I have enjoyed in other programs and films, starred in "Men of a Certain Age." (Mondays 10/9c on TNT) I was not impressed. Were you?

I was a little disappointed and actually flipped to another channel before I remembered I was supposed to be watching that show. From the sneak previews, it looked like it would be kind of on the idea of that Billy Crystal movie where he and his friends go to a dude ranch to try and figure out what it means ot be "real men," what middle age crises men go through, etc. I'm hoping that the show picks up and focuses a little more. They have some real talent there, and Ray Romano is a really good comedian. If I can remember, I'll watch for another week to see if it gets a little better. There's potential although I'm not sure how sustainable the premise can be over a long run.
Seemed to try to convince us to get to know the characters in 1 hour. And some of the stuff was unrealistic. A man of a certain age near 50- would have kids in college not babies. A 48 year old average man with 3 kids under 8?
I was drawn in by the commercials.
My husband & I watched.
I agree it was slow & boring.
After the show, I was thinking I won't waste my time with that but then the previews came & I could see the direction it was going to take. I think with the cast, acting & storyline (that I see coming up), this could end up being a hit. They have a lot to work w/ and the proven actors to develop deep characters. I think this could be a better version of "Desperate Housewives" from the male perspective. I don't watch that show (maybe 3 episodes), but I think they could make this one more realistic. That's my hope, anyway.
I LOVE to watch that but I was at the Easter Vigil last night for 2 1/2 hrs. I went to the Good Friday 3pm mass as well. Today my ride slept in (my mom) but will see my mom for Easter dinner today. Happy Easter everyone!!
I watched it. I agree it was a bit slow to start, but maybe they were just introducing the characters. There was some good parts and I like the cast, will keep watching to see how the show continues.--Luvy
I think it got off to a slow start, but I can see some potential. The cast is impressive. I'll take it one week at a time and see what happens.
Well, I actually loved it very much. I don't agree that it was slow or boring. The three actors played their part great and their comedy experience connects beautifully in this show.
Why should I even bother when my own life already parallels those of the men in the show? It'd be kinda like lookin' in the mirror for me...
The "spots" advertising the show did not make
the story line seem appealing. Thus, did not watch---and will not.
I lasted until the first commercial. Boring.
