Dizzy Gillespie did a disco record in the '70s, with among others an arrangement of the St. Louis Blues that is in a shortened version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIvCJC8oAIE.
Would anybody be so kind to reveal to me its name and label?

I remember hearing this recording and laughing out loud back in my college days; it's called "Dizzy's Party", and the original LP was released on Norman Granz' Pablo label. The personnel includes Paulinho Da Costa on percussion, Mickey Roker on drums, and Rodney Jones on guitar. That's one I should look out for since it is a mix of disco and bebop that is far more palatable than the disco/jazz hybrids put out by some other heavyweights (those wretched Stanley Turrentine records from the late '70's immediately come to mind).
The album is "Free Ride"; the St. Louis Blues arrangement isn't on there, but he did perform that on The Muppet Show with the house band, Electric Meyhem.
