Drug tests aren't performed in basic physicals. As several other people have already mentioned, doctors typically don't perform drug/alochol/nicotine tests unless they have a specific reason to do so.
Your friend's doctor might ask her if she smokes, but she can just lie.
No, Doctors do not specificallty check for nicotine or alcohol levels in the bloodstream, unless the parents ask specifically for the doctor to do so. However, being a smoker myself since age 14, I can inform you that there is a 95% chance that her parents will find out another way. I told my parents and they just looked very disappointed.
I would recommend your friend to tell her parents and see what their reaction is. You must understand that telling your parents straight-out is going to result in a far less angry reaction than if they find out and you have been lying to them.
Sorry about the side track :) But no, your friend should be safe unless her parents specify to the doctor to check for nicotine levels.
No. Physicians don't test for drugs (or legal substances like alcohol and tobacco) unless they have a specific reason to, and there is no need to do so in a typical physical.
no. mine does not. as far as I know the only time your friend would be tested for drugs would be with a good reason to do so.. such as if she played a sport and was accused of using steroids or something, they'd test her if she signed the paper.
they might ask her if she smokes but they wont check for it. and she can always just lie and say no. but take it from a smoker... quit while your ahead. its been years and i wish i never started.
