I am having trouble concentrating in school and studying. I have to take a break every ten minutes to get up and move. My grades in school are suffering because of this. What else can I do besides taking medication?

Do you also have that problem at home, like when doing your homework? Do you have trouble finishing tasks you start? Do you find your mind changing from thoughts of one thing to another rapidly? Are you very easily distracted? Do you daydream a lot? Do you have trouble remembering a short list of things that need to be done?
For your problem to be ADHD, the problems have to exist at home and at school. There might be several other reasons why you might be having problems sitting still at school, stress, anxiety, muscle aches associated with growth spurts and others. I recommend you do some research on ADHD and see if any of it's other symptoms fit your situation. You would have to have at least 3 ADHD symptoms for you to get an ADHD diagnosis.
I suggest that you talk to your parents, the school counselor or school nurse about your problem.
Do something in the morning that's physical- go for a jog, run on a treadmill. It looks like your problem is more sitting still than attention wandering, so try doing something that will physically tire you so you don't feel the need to move as much.
You can prob get counselling, heard it does help quite a bit with the abnormal attention span, do u hav a school psychologist? If not, prob a clinical psychologist
