I have had vaginal burning for a month and no bacteria or yeast infection. It comes and goes all day and I feel flushed at times. I'm so nervous as to whats wrong. Has anyone has this?
The ONLY way to know for sure if it's bacteria or yeast infection is to go to the doctor, so if you know that then you must have already gone? So I'm confused as to why the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong, or even have some sort of idea. If he/she really sent you home with no answers then it's time to find a new doc ASAP! Yeast infections and certain STD's cause vaginal burning...both need to be treated. You need to find a new doctor.
ADD - - "Florida Girl" is completely incorrect in telling you not to wear cotton. Wearing cotton underwear is advised by gynecologists because they are loose and allow you to "breath". Unlike other kinds of fabric that would trap moisture down there that leads to infection and odor.
I use something called Biofem Active Gel - it is available in the UK (made in the Netherlands). It is really soothing - no harsh chemicals, just plant extracts.
I disagree with the other answer, I think natural cotton underwear is best, but try not to wear tights (or if you do, cut a couple of slits in the crotch so the air can circulate better). Maybe you are wearing tight jeans a lot? If so, try a loose cotton skirt for a while. Or it may be that you have a new partner and he is using condoms with a spermicide which is irritating you?
You say no bacteria or yeast infection, but have you been tested to make sure?
If it does not get better, best to see your doctor so he/she can rule out anything nasty, but it is probably just sweat/irritation.
It's probably your underwear. The material can cause itching "down there". Try switching your underwear to a "silky" type material rather than cotton... esp. if you shave... also, try going bare while sleeping so it can breathe.
